I was travelling around Europe and Asia in 2015. Home in New Zealand now, cruising around the country in my van conversion recording music and exploring.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I see couch surfing as a fantastic knowledge sharing tool and a great way to meet cool and interesting people while seeing the world.

Interests

MUSIC and AUDIO:
Previously I played in two 7+ person bands as a vocalist / voice effects artist (one band was avant-doom folk [Mice on Stilts], the other free noise jazz [Saturnian Noise Collective]). My primary instrument is guitar, followed closely by my voice - supplemented through my experience as a sound designer for film and as an audio engineer. I know ableton live inside out :)

PSYCHOLOGY and SELF GROWTH:
Since the age of 18, I've been addicted to self-development through social and self experiments, applied psychology, doing crazy stuff, and living for the story. I like pushing the box and challenging expectations, whether these are self-imposed or socially influenced.

WRITING:
I love writing and especially blogging - though I haven't been blogging much in recent years. Just microblogging (instagram, facebook). I believe blogging is great for people on Earth to share their ideas and discoveries with the world - regardless of their education and background. The medium can change to video, audio, photography, art, music, spatial, code, science etc... the premise is the same: to stimulate and calm the conversations and visuals and sounds and abstractions circling around in one's head and body by converting these into a language others can read.

ETHICS, ENVIRONMENTALISM and VEGANISM:
This is a huge part of my identity. While I'm not an evangelist or going to impose my principles onto others, I'm always open to questions from and conversations with anyone who is curious or concerned!

TRANSHUMANISM, SCIENCE, EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES, OUTER SPACE...
I'm an advocate for life extension technologies, and anything that increases our options and possibility to experience worlds beyond our imaginations.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Producing an 11 song album that was recorded in my car while travelling around New Zealand. About to do this again!

A NZ band I was in played to a theatre filled with 1,500 people. We were opening for the original 70s prog band, 'YES' ... dream come true! Got to meet the fossils backstage too...
