About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Trying to turn some 7th and 8th graders in to scientists.
ABOUT ME
I just like to have a good time, I'm laid back and out going, but I also hate getting in other people's way and wearing out my welcome. I'd love to get to know the person I'm staying with, and that's the ideal situation, but if need be I can keep to myself and stay out of your way!
I'm currently an 8th grade science teacher in Clarksdale, Mississippi. I've never left school feeling like what I'm doing is not making a difference in these kids lives. I've never been more proud of my exhaustion.
PHILOSOPHY
I'd rather be poor and happy than rich and miserable, but having some free spending money doesn't hurt!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Through college my roommates had been averse to the idea of letting a stranger stay on our couch, so I've yet to host, but I absolutely plan on it once I get my big boy living quarters in Mississippi
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Once in Chicago on my way home to Los Angeles. Once in Ames, Iowa during a competition. Once in St. Louis and Memphis on my way to Mississippi. Never had a bad time, always learned something great.
Interests
I'd say I'm a jack of all trades. I find almost anything interesting. I love music (can't play it though ): ), I play every sport under the sun, but I currently have a torn ACL so that's limited my options. I've started running 5ks as a result. I was a history major, got a biology minor and I taught math so there's usually not any want for conversation where I go. I also love craft beer. Sierra Nevada might be my favorite brewery, but Great Lakes, Stone, Bells, and my cousin's Sideswipe all come in really close to Sierra Nevada.

Music, Movies, and Books
Blues, Jazz, Rock! Love me some good movies. I really like dystopian books like 1984, Animal Farm, Brave New World. I've also been really into Stephen King lately; Joyland and The Shining were both fantastic.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've witnessed two separate no hitters in person: Jered Weaver and Clayton Kershaw. I know I didn't do either of those things, but it was still an amazing experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
I really would like to learn more about other cultures and languages, but learning about anything is always fun!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'd be happy to go get drinks and buy a round or two of beer to get to know each other. I'd also be more than willing to help with whatever I can around the house if need be.
Countries I’ve Visited
Italy, Spain
