About Me
Hi folks!
I'm a PhD student in philosophy at Georgetown University, living in Washington, DC. I've lived in DC for ten years, and in my current apartment for five. I used to host a bunch of couchsurfers with my roommate Ravenna, using her profile, in this apartment, but took a break from hosting in the past few years since my boyfriend moved in in her place and we got two cats. But now, I'm moving to Germany for a year in October and I hope to couchsurf around Europe while I am there, and so I wanted to pay it forward in advance by hosting some folks this summer!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love helping folks out and meeting new people. I've always been allergic to formality and boredom, and Couchsurfer seems like a great way to break that ice. I also want to pay it forward in advance before I couchsurf around Europe next year.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: Lots of philosophy books, but especially Rousseau and Heidegger.
Music: All kinds of stuff. I go to a show at the 9:30 club about twice a month. Just scanning my Instagram, the last few shows I've seen were Christine & the Queens, Grimes, Kendrick Lamar, Andrew Bird, Poliça, Angel Haze, Eimly Wells, Cœur de Pirat, Ibeyi, Death Cab for Cutie, Goodspeed You! Black Emperor, Explosions in the Sky, and Courtey Barnett. I'll listen to anything as long as it's fun.
TV: Democracy Now!, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Strangers with Candy, Broad City.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Let's see. I once attended an illegal, small, underground meeting of feminist activists in Cairo right on the eve of the Arab Spring. That was pretty cool. I also once got non-consenually kidnapped by a drag queen as part of a performance. That was cool in a very different way. Oh! And once Dead Prez did a show for me and about twenty other people at Occupy Wall Street.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know a lot about DC (lived here a whole decade!), European philosophy, and music. I'm also trying to learn German ASAP and would welcome some practice!
What I Can Share with Hosts
A fold-out futon bed in a second room in my apartment, as well as one in the living room. I can cook pretty good vegetarian food and am happy to share! Any most importantly, my cats Fred and Ginger are pretty good company, if sometimes a bit of imposing personalities.
