About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Pass my PhD. Travel from Rotterdam to Luxembourg on a beer tour!

ABOUT ME

I'm English, 27 and drink more tea than you can ever imagine. I am incomprehensible in every language.

PHILOSOPHY

My Great Uncle Bernard:

"A sense of humour, my dear boy, must be maintained at all times and under all circumstances."

I would say I'm quite open minded and open to new things. As for a personal philosophy, that's a big question and I'm still working it out.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can give good people one night's stay at my place and also guide you aroudn my city/area.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

One brilliant experience with Alessandro in Turin (see references)

Sounds a bit dodgy, doesn't it? It wasn't quite like that, I can assure you.

Interests

Unicycling (20"), riding my racing bike as quickly and dangerously as possible, books, films, the 1970's (check out my wardrobe), espresso&cointreau, hammocks, writing letters, good conversation, music, cooking (especially cute, fluffy animals, seafood and/or offal), living as cheaply as possible, Aldi, vintage clothes.

Mostly tea and armchairs. I drink two and a quarter litres every day MINIMUM. If you stay at my house, you will be expected to keep up with the drinking and put up with me going on about different types of leaves etc

Music, Movies, and Books

I read a lot and am at risk of becoming a hermit. All types of books, in Italian, French or English.Depends how I'm feeling really.

I am interested in the following artists: Piaf, Gainsbourg, Brett Anderson, David Bowie, The Strokes, The Libertines (Pete Doherty/Babyshambles), Luke Haines (the man behind the Auteurs, Black Box Recorder and Baader Meinhof), Giuliano Palma and the Bluebeaters, Chris Rea, Howlin'Wolf, Louis Armstrong,Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers and am just getting into Charles Mingus.

Movies: silent cinema, French nouvelle vague, English kitchen sink, Antonioni, Spaghetti Westerns. A bit of everything 'arthouse' if we're honest.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well, I'm only twenty one and I think that there's a lot to do.

Unicycling down a cobbled street reading a broadsheet newspaper, drinking some coffee and smoking a cigarette was a pretty good time though. and they say that men can't multitask!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to unicycle, how to make brilliant hamburgers, sandwiches and cups of tea or help you with your English.

I can teach you Termolese and Coalvillian dialect. My Italian tends to make Italians laugh.

With a Swiss army knife, a pen, some paper and a bit of brainpower, you can learn a bit about everything. That's what I'm trying to do.

Countries I’ve Visited

Andorra, Belgium, France, Gibraltar, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, San Marino, Spain, Switzerland, Vatican City State

Countries I’ve Lived In

United Kingdom
