Hello my name is Jose. I work for a market here in Pasadena, California. I enjoy helping people with their groceries or to just help them into their car. I have a construction background so that makes me pretty handy around the house, as well. I am new to international traveling and so far I have only been to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I visited Rio by myself in 2014 and stayed at a hostel for 3 weeks. Easily the best time of my life. I made new friends from all across the globe as well as local Cariocas. Being that I am fluent in Spanish, I decided to try and learn some Portuguese as well. And now, Eu falo um poco.

Anyway this year my mates, and I, are planning a month long backpacking trip through Europe. We are very excited to get to know our neighbors across the pond, and also to use Couchsurfing for the first time. We would like thank you in advance for your hospitality and generosity. When I was younger I was in the military. While I was in I was a parachutist, so I have countless jumps on my record. I guess this makes me a little bit of an action junkie, lol.

Like I stated before I enjoy Learning and teaching Languages, and because of my military background i understand the value of good communication with others. Knowing how to communicate with others, prevents misunderstandings between people. And helps build bridges between different cultures, which I believe is something we desperately need.
