About Me

Hi! I'm an American-Hungarian currently living in Budapest. I grew up between Croatia and Hungary and once spent a year in China teaching English.

I work as an assistant director on international films and series that shoot in Budapest. I just finished filming my last project, so I'm looking forward to a break. My plan is to relax and explore in Portugal throughout the first three weeks of June.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been a member of the CS community for a long time. My brother and I have hosted many travelers from all over the world at our place in Budapest. I believe the best way to get a feel of a new city is to see it through the eyes of locals - as a host I am glad to share this opportunity with others, and as a traveler I look forward to experiencing it myself.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love many different styles of music - Tiny Desk is the best for discovering new artists!
One of the latest ones I saw was with Fred again... who I hadn't heard before and now love.
My favorite artists include Kendrick Lamar, Bon Iver, Frank Ocean, Terrace Martin and Robert Glasper, Johnny Cash, Flume, Pink Floyd and many more.

TV shows used to be a huge part of my life - until I started working on them and barely have time to watch stuff. But the best dramas I've seen were Mr. Robot, Twin Peaks, Lost and The Leftovers. How about comedies? Reservation Dogs, The Office, Friends, The Comeback, Curb Your Enthusiasm

Currently reading: Gábor Máté - The Myth of Normal but supplementing it with some Kurt Vonnegut because it's a heavy and sometimes depressing read.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiked down the crater of a volcano spewing blue fire with an acid lake in the middle (Kawah Ijen, Indonesia)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Hungarian, some say is the hardest language to learn. You can be one of the few people in the world who speak it... Just don't count on using it anywhere besides Hungary :)

I love to eat, which movitates me to experiment with cooking as often as I can! Cooking is an art. I love trying new recipes we've never done before. My father worked in many restaurants and taught me to always clean as I cook, so if I cook for you, your kitchen won't look like it.

Good conversation! I like to listen to people speak about things they're passionate about and gain insight from them.
