QUICKLY ABOUT MYSELF:

My name is Josh but all my friends call me Jay.
I am 24 and traveling Europe for 2 and a half years with my backpack and skateboard.
Currently I am 1 and a half years in and still loving every minute of it.

I really enjoy nature and the great outdoors. 🌲🌴
Learning to cook fun and healthy new recepies. 🍛
I love helping people out and always lend my advice to new or less experienced travelers🎒
Any crazy and chaotic new experiences that might come my way I say bring em on!!! 🕺

This year as well as my travels im deciding to focus more on a clean healthy diet, lots of exercise, practice more meditation and yoga to learn a language and of course to still get some necessary partying done.

My goal is to experience every European country properly by hanging out with cool locals, tasting the cuisine, learning the language (Hello, Thankyou, I love you but its usually swear words) 🙊
Making friends wherever I go, looking back on the history
And just generally avoiding all the touristy traps. 🙈

This year I would like to Catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights above the artic circle, it has always been on my bucket list for many years and this is the year for it!!!

To learn how to snowboard and get better at the coolest sport in the world 🏂

I want to gather a group of cool people who want to go camping and hitchiking through Norway and Sweden over summer. 🇳🇴🇸🇪

Right now I am currently beginning to learn German and trying more and more everyday.
I am even considering moving to a smaller part of Deutschland to improve. 🇩🇪

Havnt had the opportunity to host anyone as I only found out about CS 2 Months into my 2+Year trip but will definitely be looking forward to hosting when I get back to Aus 👌

WHY I AM ON COUCHSURFING:

Simply put: The more and more I use CS and get involved with the community of Couchsurfing the more I learn and grow as a person, Its a great way (maybe the best way) to meet local legends and like minded travelers from across the globe 🌏🌍🌎

I lole to meet new people and share some funny stories/ travel advice.
Always making new friends.
Having somewhere to stay with cool people to chill or party with.

Im still new to to couchsurf and joined when I started my travels so unfortunately havnt been able to host anyone.

The power of now is my favorite book but finding time to read more is something im working on.

Im currently read Der Kleine Priz in German but I need to slowly translate it and improve my learning.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

SOME AMAZING THINGS I HAVE DONE: 🥳😯🏂🕺

Back home on the Gold Coast I went Skydiving. (Twice)
I volunteered as a life saver for 6 months at the busiest most crowded beach.

Visited some cool temples in Bali and some even cooler waterfalls, Snorkeling around the Gili Islands feeding fish and tickling turtles, I think this is where my excitement for traveling began.

In Europe I have volunteered at many hostels and even a few workaways
1 workaway alloud me to stay in Ibiza for 23 days 😉

Over last summer I managed to do 6 Festivals B2B including:
Awakenings, Running of the bulls, Tomorrowland, Untold, Sziget and Sonus Festival.

After which I did 2 months of road trips, camping and detoxing in the Bosnian and Montenegrin mountains, climbing all the highest peaks in my pair of destroyed Vans shoes.

I Spent my first NYE In Berlin (Where I was kind of living) and my second in Bucharest.

I have been snowboarding in Bansko Bulgaria and also did many awesome hikes in the high Tatra mountains of Slovakia and have also sailed around the islands of Croatia on a yacht with 30 other Australians.

Always happy to offer my hosts whatever I have and whatever I can (Usually food) 🍲🥗🌯
I have many many stories to share from my adventures as Im sure you do too.
If you like to drink alcohol than I can always pick up something exotic from whatever countries im passing through or first round on me at your local bar 🍻🍻🍻🍻

Im pretty independent and really laid back/ relaxed so if youre to busy to hang out its not a worry, I wont get in the way of your work or social commitments 😊

Will also do absolutely anything for my friends and family.

I really enjoy cooking and its always a good way to get to know people and learn something new. 🌮🍎

If you collect any small things from countries ie keychains, fridge magnets or postcards I am happy to pick some up or you along the way, As long as its not to heavy in my backpack just let me know. 😉
(No kitchen appliances haha)
