About Me
Hey, I'm Josh! I am a Software Engineering student at the University of Waterloo in Canada. I love to travel and get outside. In my spare time, I can usually be found hiking, sightseeing, and meeting new people. Other hobbies of mine include music and sports. I grew up playing hockey and watch hockey/baseball quite frequently. I try to go to concerts whenever possible and also enjoy music festivals.
I have been fortunate to have travelled a decent amount, ranging from internships in San Francisco to rough nature excursions in Guatemala and Africa. I enjoy seeing nature, meeting awesome people, and practice drinking regularly.

Music, Movies, and Books
I am primarily interested in classic rock with some 80s/90s rock thrown in, but I think there's a time and a place for all types of music. My favourite bands include Pink Floyd, Pearl Jam, Phish, Dave Matthews Band, The Who, BTO, Foo Fighters, and many many more. However, I can be found listening to rap and EDM fairly regularly.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One notable recent experience was hiking the Pacaya volcano in Guatemala. While this was a fairly challenging hike physically, the views were incredible and seeing the volcano erupt was fantastic. After camping on the mountain, getting up at 4am to finish the hike for sunrise was also quite remarkable.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm always learning, primarily about software engineering but also learning how to be good at life in general. I try to teach whenever I get the chance as well.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love talking about my past experiences, having deep conversations about current issues, and having fun. I enjoy learning about local cultures and meeting new people. My motto in life is 'gotta have fun' and I tend to live by it quite religiously.
