Overview
About Me
I feel so at home when I’m backpacking, discovering new places and meeting new people. I love watching people and animals, listening to music and learning about cultures, their philosophies, customs, foods and communities.
I'm a drummer of 16 years and have played in several bands and even been played on the radio back home. I just love to play and be around music as much as possible.
Enthusiastic minimalist and zero waste enthusiast.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As much as I enjoy hostels, I really enjoy meeting locals and learning about their lives, countries and foods. 6 years ago I did a summer camp in the U.S. and met two brothers from Mexico who encouraged me to come and stay with them. In a little tucked away town, I stayed with them for 3 weeks, ate what they ate, did what they did and had the most wonderful time. Culturally, it enriched the experience so much that I still to this day talk to my friends about it. I was lucky enough in Feb 2018 to go back to Acapulco Mexico for one of their weddings. It's the best way to travel and I have enjoyed hosting friends I've met overseas when they've come to Melbourne and taken them down the Great Ocean Road and to pokey little bars around town.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In May of 2017, I ran a fundraiser for mental health (Youthbeyondblue and Black Dog Institute) raising $1600Aus. I booked a venue, organised bands, publicity and posters and played a whole lot of covers from Queens of the Stone Age to Bruno Mars and Aretha Franklin. It was a hugely proud moment for me and something that I'll always remember fondly. Being able to play music is a blessing but coupled with such a positive cause is great. Looking forward to the next opportunity to do it again.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach drums, help people with English (spoken/written), Aussie Rules footy. I love to learn about different languages, cultures and foods. Share: Food, music, books, movies, experiences. I’m also a very keen photographer. I can share plenty about Australian dialect too! Believe me, you'd probably not understand much.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Australian culture, a great sense of humour, a curious eye and ear for anything different and anything I can learn, cooking skills, a minimalistic lifestyle, someone who is not glued to technology, a love of animals and willingness to help whenever and wherever I can.
