Overview
About Me
Hi! I’m Josh from Australia. I’ve been lucky enough to do a lot of travel in groups and solo, and I really enjoy immersing myself in the culture when I visit new places. At home I’m studying science (physiology, so cells and muscles and… stuff), working as a disability support worker, play in a band, and try to figure out the whole life thing.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to meet real people! I want to form connections with lovely people, share stories and learn from each other. I have a lot of respect for the places I’m going to, but as a tourist not knowing anyone locally it can be hard to actually understand the culture.

Music, Movies, and Books
Big music lover! Lots of Australian/Indie/Rock, also hip hop and jazz in really into. Currently playing in an indie rock band back home and writing music on guitar/vocals, but also loved playing in jazz bands on saxophone in the past.
Movies and books also great! But books can really take some motivation to get started on sometimes 😬😬
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Tough question! Amazing is way too subjective so I’ll choose a good memory: living and travelling with a beautiful family in north India (Himachal Pradesh), participating in local ceremonies and learning Hindi from the only teacher in the village. Something I’ll never forget, especially as a 20-year-old on my first solo trip.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love teaching and sharing, especially because it gives me a new perspective on things I already form an opinion of and do a lot.
I’m very happy to help teach English, guitar, skating, street art (sketching & spray paint)…. Also share some common food from back home (even though everything we have is basically a butchered version of another culture. Look up an HSP - it was made in Australia but I love it!)
What I Can Share with Hosts
English practice, Aussie food and music, guitar, good vibes and chats ❤️
