Overview
About Me
I grew up in a town called Bonavista- a town of about 5000 people on the east coast of Newfoundland, Canada. Right now I live in the capital city of Newfoundland and Labrador which is St. John's- a city of about 211,000.
I am a junior high school teacher-just finishing up my second year of teaching French and Social Studies to grade 7 and 8 students.
So far I've been able to visit some great places on this lovely planet called earth and I've enjoyed them all! Meeting new people is one of the best parts of travelling and up to this point I've been quite lucky in that regard.
I am very social... Gee that sounds really generic, but it's true. I love meeting new people and hearing what they have to say. I like listening to people's opinions and trying to see things from other people's perspective.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing because I want to have the kind of trip where I'm connecting with locals and meeting new people rather than a trip where I'm in my own bubble the whole time. I want to come back to Canada having made some new connections with people and having experienced life abroad more authentically than I would have if I had stayed in hotels.
I am also eager to extend this invitation to anyone who wants to come see my beautiful part of the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I lived with a family on the little French island of Saint Pierre (south of Newfoundland) for three months as part of an immersion experience for university students completing a Bachelor's degree in French. I met lots of great people and improved a lot in my French skills.
I've also successfully taught 12-14 year olds things they don't necessarily want to learn and all of the other things that come along with it for (almost) a year. I think that's an amazing thing.
