Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I am currently on a 5(ish) month trip through South America. Starting in Chile, then heading north to Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, and Colombia.
ABOUT ME
I am a very adventurous and outgoing guy, and love being active and getting outdoors. I spend the vast majority of my spare time camping, surfing, snowboarding, fishing, diving (apnea and scuba), and of course travelling around Australia and the world.
PHILOSOPHY
I'm not huge on philosophy. I live my life trying to have as much fun and enjoyment as I can, while being respectful to others and generally just trying to be the best person I can be. I believe in Karma.
"Treat others the way that you would like to be treated"- Mum
"The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page"- St. Augustine
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To me, it is the local people who make a city or town what it is, much more so than the surrounding environment. Locals have the best knowledge of the area, restaurants, secret spots, nightlife etc, which is a lot greater than following recommendations from Lonely Planet and the internet and getting stuck in the tourist trap.
I've had a few couchsurfers stay at my place now, and it has been really great to meet new people from all over the world, share stories, meals, have a laugh, and be able to show them some cool places around my local area they would never have known existed. I find it very rewarding being able to show people around, and being able to involve them in some activities they have never done before.
Interests
A little more detail about my interests mentioned above- I have spent the past 6 years living a nomadic life in Western Australia, as well as travelling overseas. I have been spending around 6 months of the year in the Margaret River region (around summer) working and enjoying the beautiful outdoors. I have a really good 4x4 camping setup, so head out camping around the coast and rivers as much as possible.
Once winter sets in I move up to Exmouth and the Gascoyne region, and spent lots of time camping, and doing many ocean activities in my little boat. The marine life is amazing in the north, and every day on the coast is an amazing new adventure- you really never know what you might see on the ocean on any given day.

Music, Movies, and Books
MUSIC
I love so much music it is impossible to make a list... Im a huge fan of live music and music festivals. Some genres I'm into include: Indie rock, rock, electronic, blues, acoustic, psychedellic, disco, hip hop...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Finding a whaleshark whilst out boating with my housemate. She stayed in the boat while I swam with it by myself for over an hour. It was an incredible experience and a day I'll never forget.
