About Me

I'm a married 32 year old, self-employed guy who is currently taking a couple of years to travel the world with my wife. We both grew up in New Orleans, LA and love most everything that traveling has to offer. We love the outdoors and camp whenever we are able, but also love to take as many opportunities to hike, jump, dive, raft, and swim at every river, lake, and waterfall we encounter. We are very enthusiastic and one of our great joys is meeting new people in the new places we visit because we find that enjoying a local perspective and the ability to learn a place from the eyes of a local is always second to none. We are huge foodies and always spend way too much of our budget on eating local cuisines in countries we visit. We love to try new things and are always looking for an adventure. We travel super light and are respectful of every place we stay whether it be a friend's place or a hotel. We own a home in the United States that we are renting while we are on the road and we treat every place as we would want the people in our place to treat ours.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We are couch surfing because we have heard great things about this community both from friends at home and from friends we have met over the last year traveling throughout the world. We would love to become hosts ourselves when we finally return and are able to reciprocate. We are traveling on a tight budget and although saving money is a primary reason for couch surfing, meeting new people and having a local perspective is just as important if not more so.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a very eclectic taste in music and really do enjoy many types of music. My wife and I both love to dance and love all sorts of music. We love to watch 90's comedies from our childhood and never pass up a good netflix series recommended by our friends. We both like to read but typically I read more non fiction books about real estate, investing, and treating people better. My wife loves mystery books and the occasional novel.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It sounds cheesy but I think my current travels with my wife is the most amazing thing I have done in my life. Choosing to give up the comfort of home, quit jobs, and go out to see the world while we have the time and are fortunate enough to be able. It was very scary for my wife in the beginning before we left but now that we have seen what life on the road looks like, we love it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach sports, learn patience, and share a lifetime of experiences!!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have a large breadth of knowledge about random things and love to have a good information. I have traveled a lot of the world(although almost none compared to others we've met) and believe I can offer great insight to ideas about ways to be able to travel for people who think it is out of their reach. I love almost all physical activities, sports, and adventures and because of my interest in those things I can add a lot to an experience.
