Overview
About Me
I am a student of life. I also just graduated from the University of Montana with a degree in Exercise Science. I have found incredible joy in experiencing things that initially scare me. To quote Osho, "Life begins where fear ends."
I have spent some time in the Philippines volunteering, which completely changed my perspective on life.
I enjoy conversations on topics people usually don't talk about on a day to day basis. I believe I have an incredible purpose in this life, and meeting you might just help me get closer to achieving that purpose.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I joined couchsurfing for a few reasons. I love meeting new people and learning about them. I also enjoy learning from them. I am a sponge looking to soak in new information, as well as new friendships. Couchsurfing has shown to be an incredibly unique way to meet people who have similar mindsets on life, which is rather intriguing.
My first experience with Couchsurfing was during an 18 day trip where I flew to Vegas (from Montana) and then hitchhiked to Portland. The goal was to "get out of my comfort zone"... and man was that goal accomplished.
I had some incredible humans help me during that trip, and I am forever grateful.
Interests
I thoroughly enjoy a good conversation. I love when I am offered a conversation that takes an alternate perspective than what I am likely biased towards. New perspectives are always a beautiful thing.
I partake in many outdoor activities here in Montana, including bow-hunting and spear-fishing. (every animal is utilized for food and other purposes)
I am very passionate about helping people utilize physical activity to enhance other aspects of their life not related to health or wellness.

Music, Movies, and Books
My music collection is extremely convoluted, with no real favorites.
The movie Warrior is always worth watching, as the storyline is incredible.
I have found reading to become an increasing passion of mine. I have enjoyed many books lately, a few being "The Saint, Surfer, and Ceo" by Robin Sharma, and "Courage" by osho.
Although viewed as boring, I tend to read quite a large amount of material on the basis of philosophical viewpoints and entrepreneurship/life goals.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Took a year off school and managed to make my way to the Philippines to volunteer with All Hands Volunteers. I became incredibly attached to the local workers/volunteers there, and found life-long friends in the process. One of the local workers, Pabski, become my inspiration in life. He was hands down the hardest worker I have ever met, and I will change his life someday.
He mentioned he would name his next child "Josh" to honor and remember me. 4 months after leaving another volunteer messaged me on Facebook to say his wife had the baby, which they named after me.
HER name is Joshlyn.
What an unbelievable experience. It was by far the best money/time I have ever invested in anything.
Teach, Learn, Share
Many people have found my perspectives on life to help them. Of course I only offer my insight if one desires to listen. I take much more joy in learning about your perspectives and ideas.
I do not claim to be an expert in anything, but I do believe my knowledge on health and wellness could benefit you. The website I am creating is dedicated towards this.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I would love to provide my ability to listen. I have found that listening, as least for me, is much more beneficial than talking.
