About Me

I'm a really carefree kind of guy. I'm extremely easy to get along with, I don't have any reservations towards new experiences or new people and I have a very open mind. I'm a pretty good cook when I feel like doing it, and I'm not afraid of hard work.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My life has been somewhat stale since I graduated from NC State, unable to find an engineering job. My loans have been suffocating me with no real way to pay them off, and I'm starting to be okay with that. I just want to experience the world and meet cool people. This small town I've been stuck in for the past several years doesn't offer me much in that field, so I'd like to move past it and hopefully find some cool people along the way that can help make it a reality.

Interests

I used to love video games (when I could afford them), but lately I've been more into things that don't cost money. Disc golf, swimming, hiking, camping, kayaking, and just hanging out with good company.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't have any favorite or least favorite genres, I don't judge music or books with any bias. If a song is good I like it, and if it sucks I don't. I listen to everything: Classical, Enya, Kid Kudi, Sigur Ros, Stone Temple Pilots, Dido... The list is long and without any semblance of pattern.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well if I had to pick one thing I guess I'd mention the carpenter bee that I brought back to life last year. It was lying on its back on the ground, buzzing occasionally, and obviously dying. I picked it up and breathed warmth onto it for about 15 minutes until it started actually moving again, clumsily walking around my palm. I figured I'd help it with it's last dying wishes and I carried it around from flower to flower. It tried a couple times to pollinate and get nectar, but kept falling off. After almost 2 hours of warming it up and helping it do bee stuff, it tried flying a couple times. This took about 10 minutes but eventually it was able to take off from my hand. It did a couple victory laps before landing on my hand again, doing a dance, and then flying off for good. I've never felt a warmer feeling in my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't know what teach learn share means, but those are 3 awesome things.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook meals and do all types of chores. I'm a great conversationalist and a good listener. I may not have a bag of sage wisdom, but I've been know to help people find it inside themselves.
