Overview
About Me
I am moving from Australia, to Europe and haven't decided what to do just yet - I want to wander a bit and see who or what turns up and find somewhere nice to sprout roots.
From time spent working at Lentil as Anything (a pay-as-you-feel community restaurant) and being involved with Food not Bombs (an anarchist soup kitchen) I picked up how to cook, make coffee and deal with management - and I wish to continue the tradition of serving wholesome love-filled food to people.
The last 4-5 years I have been living on the road, in mobile homes that I built out myself, and quite liked the cost-efficiency and freedom of the lifestyle. I've built a few. I am considering doing the same in Europe, but don't know enough about the laws and feasibility of the option yet to decide.
I am deaf, but I am very good at communication, and find no issues communicating with anyone - even if they don't understand english... (at Lentils, I managed half of the staff who were immigrants with no english skills)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm here to find new friends! I am moving to a new country, so I am open to experiences and friendships... So instead of staying at hostels, I'd like to get to know people in the new city I'm in.
Even though I am deaf, and it can be a small barrier to interaction at times - I still enjoy meeting new people immensely and discovering what they are like. Don't worry, I have been communicating for a long time and have gotten quite good at it.
My current mission is to find all the tweed I can! I am going through a wool phase.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I took up learning 15-16th century early modern english to translate a video game once.
After a few months of too many hours at the library, reading ancient literature and watching shakespearean films, I got Minecraft fully translated to Shakespearean English! It's pretty nerdy but I'm quite proud of this achivement and they gave me an ingame cape for my efforts.
Teach, Learn, Share
I teach people that I meet how to sign quite often! They seem to pick it up pretty well, so I like to think I'm a good teacher at that! If you want to learn, I'm your man.
I'm also pretty keen to start learning how to sign in other languages and have been picking up a little bit from other travellers and media.
Countries I’ve Visited
Australia, Fiji, India, New Zealand, Singapore
