Overview
About Me
Top of the morning to ya! My name is Josh the Squash (I have a bit of a green thumb) and dig just being outside in general. I'm most comfortable 'mocked ten feet up with uke in hand. However, it's now winter so surfing on a couch is a more realistic option.
This might sound like a lie but I sincerely LOVE doing dishes and tidying up --- it provides me with catharsis. And as I get further along the plant-based path, I've been wanting to experiment more and more in the kitchen; thus if it's kosher, I could cook for ya!
In the long term, I intend to combine my passions of artificial intelligence and social justice. But for now, I just want to travel and see/experience as much as I can!
Most shambly story: One time I lost a bet and had to fly back home from Copenhagen whilst shirtless and wearing only one shoe. The US Border Control officials were not pleased.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
A friend of mine once said, "[Couchsurfing] has changed my life and redeemed my faith in humanity". I really resonate with the idea of communal living as it vibes with my goals of minimalism. Plus, I'm a people person whose fave part of traveling is meeting and learning from peeps in the hostel and on the streets!
Interests
Hmmm...I love playing soccer, making a fool of myself on the dance floor, trying my hand at massage, and researching AI. I feel a moral obligation to leverage my privilege to stand in solidarity with others --- having focused on dining workers and farmworkers especially. I like long walks on the beach. I also have a passion for disc golfing and geocaching (essentially a worldwide treasure hunt). I have a hadron for telling bad physics jokes. I love the outdoors and am always down to go backpacking/hiking/canoeing. I'll alway hit up any and all free events.

Teach, Learn, Share
As a math nerd, I could teach you how to quickly calculate the day of the week given any date in history.
As someone on the vegan path, I could teach you how to make some dope vegan brownies. All I need is a food processor.
I also excel at shutting up and just listening so that I can learn as much as I can from the people I meet.
What I Can Share with Hosts
-vegan cooking (brownies and risotto are my specialty)
-ukulele serenades
-my love for board/card/party games
