About Me

I'm a university student from Rotterdam. I have previously lived in Middle East and Asia. I am always motivated to learn and explore. To learn what that never occurred to me before and to explore where that I never knew it existed before. My best travels have been to places that scared me the most. Places that were far, unknown, and outside of my comfort zone. Those places made me wiser and stronger. Those trips also rewarded me with the most unique friends as well. I'm studying international business administration in Rotterdam School of Management. However I am very interested in physics and spend a lot of my time exploring new technologies and discoveries. I'm passionate about Jazz and Classical music. I automatically play a soundtrack in my head during the most important events of my life. One of the most joyous activities in my life is cooking for my friends and family. I believe one of the best ways to explore a new culture is through its cuisine. Every once in a while I choose a certain cuisine, study it, learn about its traditions and its history, and on a weekend I cook a dish or two of it, and then while serving it I play a traditional folk music related to it, and finally I enjoy it while pretending to be a native of that culture. I know it's a bit quite odd however once you do it, it is a very delightful activity.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My goals while traveling are to live like a local as much as possible and find friends that last me a life time. After learning about the concept of Couchsurfing I am very hopeful and positive that here could be a place to achieve my travel goals. Also when I am not travelling I always like to explore my own city and find its gems and beauties. And it is very pleasing for me to share those with other travelers and hear their opinion.

Music, Movies, and Books

-Music
I could enjoy almost all types and genres.
Jazz both oldies and fresh sounds.
Chet Baker.
Classical.
Opera.
Handel, Beethoven, Mozart, Shostakovitch, Khachaturian, Strauss.

-Movies
Most of the movies I really like aren't rated that highly. I pay more attention to the feelings that the movie is instilling in me rather than its story line. I really like some of the lower grade unknown movies that have lot of character. However I am not really a fan of horror and thriller movies.

-Books
I like slow and descriptive books where concepts of life are simplified. However I usually read non-fictions about new ideas.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 17 I decided to go and live in Malaysia for a while and travel around Southeast Asia by myself. As a young man in a foreign distant land I had a share of bittersweet memories. Some nights were dismal and lonely and some other ecstatic and cheerful. Overall it made me wiser, stronger, and more open-minded than ever before.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would like to learn about the secret gems of the city. I am excited to hear the stories of the others. To find what motivates them and what excites them. I like to have random chats about life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share the stories of my travels, my way of life, and my learning so far. I can make pretty decent food. I could cook great Paellas as well. I have a fair knowledge of wine and would be glad to share my knowledge. I love craft beers and also Belgian Therapist beers, I could share the selection of best ones I have tried.

Countries I’ve Visited
