About Me
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yo puedo hablar un poco español, puedo entender un poco más ... pero quiero aprender mucho más! No puedo conversar con fluidez, pero trato hablar lo mejor que puedo con mi vocabulario limitado. Si sólo hablas español, no es un problema para mí - si tambien está bueno para usted.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I finished university in Boston one year ago, worked as a photographer and Uber driver, and decided to drop everything and head off on a solo backpacking trip in South America. When I return to the US I will be heading back to school for music / audio production. But for the next 10 months, it´s just me, a backpack, and this exciting adventure.
A little about me - I appreciate the lighter, more tranquil side of life. Don´t get me wrong, I love adventure, I love meeting new people, I love doing the unexpected, the unpredictable, the unimagineable! But I can find myself content doing almost anything, whether it´s cooking, walking around town, listening to music, having a stimulating conversation.. the list is endless.
I love music of all kinds. I love getting into discussions whether about the deepest most philosophical questions in life, or the most silly or mundane thing I might have witnessed that day.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I´m here not just to meet new people or find a place to stay. For me, couchsurfing gives me the opportunity to fall right into the local culture of a city. Staying with someone who lives there, and getting to experience a more real side of their city. The best places to eat, the busier and more tranquil parts of town, the markets for buying local markets, a nearby bar, you name it!
On the other side of things, when I am home in Boston I will be able to host travelers on a couch of my own, and show them what it´s like to live in the city I call home.
Interests
I love all things music and audio. Live music - concerts big and small, playing piano, dancing, home sound systems and other audio toys, pretending I can sing, the list goes on. I recently taught myself how to DJ with vinyl records, it´s tremendous fun and a great way to experience music. I love photography, and sometimes find myself walking around just with a camera and an open eye. Along with that, I love walking in nature and walking around town, immersing myself and seeing people go about their day. I love bike riding, if there was one material posession I wish I had with me right now, it´s my bike!

((-)) Oldies - the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Elton John, Queen, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley
to name a few big names
I do enjoy the occasional movie as well, and I've seen plenty of classics - but the past few years it seems I spend my time either exploring outside, listening to music, or just hanging out with friends.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Most recently, this entire backpacking trip feels a bit unreal to me. Just one year ago, I was still finishing university. Next thing I knew, I had a low interest loan and bought myself a car. Put it on the road and began driving for Uber full time. Used the savings to drop everything, sublet my apartment, store my things and fly out to South America, with just a 20kg backpack and a highly flexible itinerary. I have big plans for when I get home, but I decided to put everything on hold because I feel that traveling and self-discovery are some of the most important parts of a healthy life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have been doing photography for almost 4 years now, focusing mostly on live music photography but I also do some portraits, street photography and candids. If you´ve got a DSLR camera but want to improve your experience using it, I would love to show you some tips and tricks!
I play piano and know some basic music theory - if you´ve got a piano or keyboard it would be cool to play something. I can teach a bit of music theory, and can help you better understand sheet music, chord progressions etc
I´m no 5-star restaurant chef, but I can cook a thing or two and love cooking for other people, learning new recipes, and sharing my own. I would be happy to buy a few ingredients and cook dinner together!
Since English is my first language, I am happy to help others learn or perfect their English skills. I speak Spanish on a relatively beginner level but I am learning more every day.
