About Me
Hey! I've just moved back to Horsham due to a breakup and realised that I'm still in contact with like three people who live here, so just trying to make friends and find drinking/talking/adventure buddies.
I draw weird pictures and then attempt to sell them in T-Shirt for under @planetarytherapy (insta) and I'm a gardener working in Brighton a couple of days a week. I love talking art, politics, philosophy and general waffle, and I try not to take life too seriously. Although its difficult considering how VERY. SERIOUS. everything seems to be these days. But at least we got them memes, though, them sweet, sweet memes. I also occasionally make films for a dementia charity.
I've got a pretty deranged and wide sense of humour and I come across as sarcastic a lot of the time when I'm being genuine, so apologies for that in advance. Also if you have a mountain bike and fancy searching out some trails, hit me up.
Unfortunately because I'm back at my parents house I can't offer a room but I am up for socialising.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To make new friends from anywhere and everywhere
Interests
I love film, music, photography, history and art. I sometimes play percussion (mainly the cajon because my flat is too small for a full kit). I'm also the in-house cinematographer for our production company Tripwire Productions where we make no-budget short films. I also work for a dementia charity where I make personalised films for people suffering with dementia. I'm hugely interested in world culture, politics, sustainability, anarchism, philosophy, psychedelia, counter-culture, science and spirituality.

Music, Movies, and Books
Some of my favourite films include Oldboy, Mad Max: Fury Road, The Lego Movie, Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas, Shaun of the Dead, City of God, Animal Kingdom and 2001: A Space Oddyssey (or basically anything else Kubrick has made), I could go on but we'd be here all day. I'm not really one for superhero films but the new Wolverine movie was amazing.
TV: Handmaid's Tale, Silicon Valley, Rick and Morty, The Simpons, Eastbound & Down, The Wire, True Detective, Breaking Bad, Brass Eye, Stranger Things, the entire Attenborough back catelogue and the 80s and more recent Cosmos series to name a few
Music: I love pretty much all music that isn't the cookie-cutter chart crap but to name a few that really stand out: Bjork, Thundercat, Mos Def, Black Keys, Chester P, Jimi Hendrix, Nitin Sawhney, Amon Tobin, Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Baby Huey, Bonobo, Youngblood Brass Band, Cinematic Orchestra, Mr Scruff, Portishead, Board of Canada, Rage Against the Machine, System of a Down, Burial, Richie Spice, Curtis Mayfield, Parliament & Funkadelic, Wu-Tang, Led Zeppelin, Dizraeli and lots of drum n bass, 60s and 70s psychedelia, reggae and dub
Books: Sapiens, Brave New World, 1984, The Corporation, Food of The Gods
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've had 3 poems published and was have been nominated for a screenwriter's award at a film festival.
I also worked as a cinematographer on a feature documentary about the housing crisis in my country (UK) with one of my favourite rappers (Chester P) which was a huge deal for me.
It's not an amazing thing I've done in particular but the charity I work for is really amazing and I find it a really enriching experience being able to make films for people whose memories are fading as a memento for them.
I also impulsively played percussion at an open-mic tent in a festival whilst dressed as a (very sexy) lady with a friend's band and I (sort of) hitchhiked from Faro to Lisbon when I travelled round Portugal.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I know things, things you wouldn't believe. Because they probably aren't true.
I can aid with creative expression, gardening tips and useless trivia.
