About Me

Passionate about all things music. Devoted to excellence. Professional percussionist (principally drum set), composer/producer, sound designer, & music educator.

I'm a drummer, electronic musician, & music educator born and raised in Boston, MA. I started my musical journey studying piano at age 8. After a burning desire took hold to learn the drums, I started to take drum lessons at age 11, and quickly found great enjoyment and much more from drumming and from age 14 onwards was playing professionally with various bands. At this time, I was listening to and playing the work of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Nirvana, and Sublime but soon found my way to the music of Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Freddie Hubbard, John Coltrane, John Scofield, and the Mahavishnu Orchestra. When I was 17, I became captivated by electronic music, and started working with electronic music production and sound design. I'm now greatly inspired by the work of Bonobo, Thievery Corporation, Beats Antique, Karsh Kale, J Dilla, Morton Subotnick, and John Chowning, among many more. I also has many years of teaching drums & music production under my belt, having taught at music schools and a Boston-based Boys&Girls Club. In addition, I've worked with notable artists such as internationally acclaimed singer/songwriter Nona Hendryx, violin/oud virtuoso Simon Shaheen, and internationally acclaimed electronic musician & sound designer Richard Devine.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveled to Mexico coincidentally at the same time a big music festival was happening - I started talking to a band a bit (most of the members knew little english and my spanish wasn't too good) - however, I was able to tell them I studied at Berklee College of Music and that I play drums and they asked me to sit in, next thing I knew I was playing music with these people I had just met to a packed club in Tulum, Mexico!
