About Me

I'm 24 years old, a recent college grad, and looking to get some adventure in my life. Couchsurfing came highly recommended, so I'm giving it a try. I've wanted to get a taste of life outside the Mid-Ohio Valley for a while, but getting there isn't cheap.

I do keep some fairly strict exercise guidelines for myself, so ideally I'd like to be somewhere where I can go on a morning run at a nearby park/track or a Planet Fitness (white card member). It's not too crazy, though; I just really try and keep it up consistently. I've lost 120 pounds to date, but still fight daily to keep an eating disorder in check.

No references yet, and I'm finding out that a lot of people aren't psyched about that (which I get). Any help building a profile that's easier to trust would be awesome.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My goal with Couchsurfing is to experience something new for a while. I'd like to work my way across the United States for a few weeks!

Interests

I'm a musician at heart. If you've got instruments lying around, there's a good chance I'll want to play them. I'm also a non-fiction reader. I have a particular interest in world religions, so it's not uncommon to catch me with a copy of the Bhagavad Gita or a great commentary series. In general, I'm interested in learning.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
City and Colour
Death Cab for Cutie
Joe Pug
William Fitzsimmons
Iron & Wine
...

Books:
Give me all the cultural and/or religious texts you've got! I just finished a series including the Dhammapada, Upanishads, and Bhagavad Gita with commentary by Pali scholar Eknath Easwaran, and am going through the Tibetan Book of the Dead with commentary by the Dalai Lama. I've found my perspective to be broader for the experience.

Movies:
I'm not picky. I don't have the stomach for excessive gore. That's really my only button.

Manic
But I'm A Cheerleader
Absentia
Enter The Void
...
