Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My favorite part of traveling is meeting interesting people from all over the world. Some of the best conversations of my life have been sitting on the floor of a hostel, trading stories with people with vastly different backgrounds and experiences than me. I use Couchsurfing as a way to bring the people and the conversations that I love to my part of the world.

As you can see by my reviews, I've hosted a fair amount. My cadence has slowed a bit recently, but I still host couchsurfers when I can. I've met some amazing people through this site and likely some lifelong friends.

Climbing tall things, ignoring no-trespassing signs, and meeting others who love adventure.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm an avid reader. One book that's dramatically improved my social interactions is How To Win Friends and Influence People. The lessons in it have shaped my life and how I try and interact with others. The best book of the decade is Sapiens. Can't recommend it enough.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen the pyramids, hiked the Great Wall of China, snorkeled the Great Barrier Reef and taken a helicopter through the Grand Canyon. I've driven a tank, played in the worlds largest treehouse and spent the night in an igloo. I could go on, but I'm sure you've done cool stuff too, so let's talk about that when we meet!
