About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learn to ask the right questions

ABOUT ME

Hi, my names Josh and I'm just an easy going guy. I've been a serious surfer and love the community. I want to learn about how people's lives are similar and different all over the world and have a good time doing it!

PHILOSOPHY

We were put on this planet to grow as individuals and be happy.

HOW I PARTICIPATE

My goal is to advocate CS, introduce it to new people, and be an example of the open mindedness and playful curiosity that is central to the community so that it will exist in perpetuity.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on couchsurfing to meet all the other awesome surfers and hosts, listen and tell crazy travel stories, and have adventures with my hosts!

Interests

I would say my biggest interest is learning new things and sharing them with other people. For that reason my biggest passion is food (both cooking and eating).

  • dining
  • cooking
  • recipes
  • traveling
  • magic
  • scuba diving
  • rock climbing
  • hitchhiking

Music, Movies, and Books

For a musician its strange how little music I actually listen to, but I enjoy just about anything that has an interesting melody, though I have a soft spot for good jazz. My real passion is books, I love to read and if you run into me on the road knock me upside the head or something to get me out of my current read, I enjoy reading everything from "The Arabian Nights Entertainment" to "Atlas Shrugged" to "The Hunger Games"

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbing Mt Villarica in Chile and sledding down.
Meditating in the Sakkara desert at dusk.
Scuba diving the Great Barrier Reef and the Milford Sound.
Hitchhiking from Berlin to Rijeka.
Bartending at LOKI CUSCO!!!!

Teach, Learn, Share

I know how to cook all kinds of things here in America but my dream is to spend time in the kitchen learning (and helping) how to make the favorite dishes of people I stay with. In addition I have played saxophone for about half of my life, and taught it for a quarter of it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Recipes, stories, massages (I have magic hands)

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Chile, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Egypt, French Polynesia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Indonesia, Italy, New Zealand, Peru, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Thailand, Turkey
