Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am planning on moving to a Spanish speaking country next winter for 3-4 months to immerse myself in the language and culture. I'm not yet sure where I will end up but I will likely be traveling to a few places as time avails this summer to get a sense for where I would like to find myself next winter. I fly stand by on United so I am incredibly blessed in that it is easy to travel often. I would love to CS through a few countries in central and south America this year and find a more long-term home for when the snow flies in Colorado. I have only surfed thus far but I plan on hosting as soon as my home is put back together. I am remodeling my house in my free time and although I am in the final stages and about to actually have a nice clean home again the process has taken over a year and I have basically been living out of boxes in a construction zone. I should have a great place to host surfers before too much longer (fingers crossed). To anyone who has hosted me or will consider hosting me, I am eternally grateful and I can't wait to give back to the community as a host myself.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first couch surfing experience was on a recent trip to Northern California to buy a vehicle. I winged the whole trip as I have friends in the Bay area but I was hosted in Petaluma, CA and it was an amazing experience. I recently surfed with an amazing host in Belgium as well. I plan on surfing around Colorado and even just around the Denver / Boulder area for a bit to get to know the community better. Soon I will be hosting and giving back to the karma pool. I'm heading back to Oktoberfest this year for another round, this year I would much prefer CSing rather than paying through the nose to get a hotel.

Interests

I love learning new things and I am currently set on learning a new lanquage (Spanish). I love traveling even if its road trips around Colorado or over to Utah. I love skateboarding, snowboarding, hiking, camping, being active, good beer, comedy, philosophy, trying new foods, meeting interesting people. I love working with my hands and building, altering, remodeling, re-designing, re-decorating, etc. I enjoy art and I am slowly getting back into oil-painting. I absolutely love music and although I have my favorite genres (drumb and bass, dub step, trip hop, punk rock, folk, reggae, house, hip hop, jazz) I have pretty eclectic tasts and enjoy listening to all types of music; especially seeing live music.
