Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am currently travelling through Europe with one of my best mates in a van and would love to meet as many good people as I can along the way.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new to CS but have heard amazing stories of great people and experiences from my friends about CS. It sounds like a great way to meet new people and experience new cultures. I think i would thouroughly enjoy returniong to favour to people travelling to Australia.

Interests

I am excited by new foods, wines and beers, particulary varieties I have not tried before. I am very keen to learn about new cultures as I really think it puts the world we live in into perspective. I enjoy just about any physical activities but cycling, Rugby Union and surf boat rowing have been a few I have partaken in. I also enjoy exploring new environments. I am fortunate enough to have great access to beaches where I live in Australia so going there with friends in the Summer is always fun. I am about to travel through Europe with one of my best mates, Tom, in a van by the name of 'Uschi' and I am extremely excited about the adventures to come.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Arriving in Italy to begin my travels through Europe as I often thought I may not get here...I was oversome with feelings of relief...and excitement! I have never thought of myself as a sentimental person but seeing two great friends of mine getting married in Italy was one of the times I have felt the upmost happiness.

Travelling through the Alps in the South of France was completely surreal and the countryside really put in persepctive that I was literally on the other side of the world.

Bungee jumping in New Zealnd off an 80m high bridge. I am shocking with heights so being able to step over the edge was a great feat for me. The sense of freedom, after the initial fear, was amazing and unsurpassed. Whilst playing Rugby Union there with teamates who ended up becoming great friends we won our final game against a Welligton side which was completely against the odds. It is hard to explain but the bungee jumping and the win were the climax of close to 12 months of work just to enable me and my friends to get to New Zealand as most of us were studying. Hopefully that puts it into perspective a bit.
