Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I started off as a surfer in Latin America and Europe, then was able to host many people at my home here in Portland. Now, my wife and I are back to surfing again for a time.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was looking forward to surfing when I first started, but I came to discover that I liked hosting even more! I've had so many great experiences so far, I hope to keep it up until I die.

Interests

Politics/social justice, film, philosophy, history, board games, old school video games, food, and food. Did I mention food? I especially like ice cream, and enjoy making ice cream at home with my hand-crank ice cream maker.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've had many amazing travel experiences, like walking in the salt flats of Bolivia during the wet season, traversing the dangerous Camino del rey, enjoying a quiet moment of reflection underwater with a giant turtle in galapagos. But those aren't the top of the list.

For a long time, interviewing my hero Noam Chomsky was the most amazing thing I'd done.

But I would say that meeting and marrying my beautiful wife Martha is the best thing I've ever done.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach English and beginner Spanish.
