About Me

CURRENT MISSION

New and challenging cultural experiences

ABOUT ME

After completing my university studies, I decided that I wanted to pospone the real world for another year. So I am travelling around South America for 2010.

I enjoy thoughtful discussions, particularly with people who have a different opinion to me. I play the guitar, harmonica, and the ukulele, although I only have my guitar and some harmonicas with me currently. I am also very sociable and love a good party!

PHILOSOPHY

Seize the present, regrets about things you didn´t do in the past are much worse than disappointments.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have only just joined, with a view to surfing some couches around South America during the year. Once I find a place to settle down for long enough, I will open up my couch to the community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Found out about the CS project through my New Zealand flatmates. They advertised my room in Dunedin when I was away during the university holidays, and an Israeli guy was living there for about 5 days. This was unbeknownst to me, until I found the sheets and socks he had left behind as a gift! But I loved the concept when I heard about it, and plan to support it from now on. Local knowledge is invaluable.

Interests

Culturally: Playing guitar, harmonica, piano, ukulele, collaborating with others or by myself, and I sing a bit too. Going to watch live music is another favourite pastime.

Socially: having ridiculous conversations, laughing, dancing.

Sport: I have done quite a bit of skiing, mountain running and hiking, as outlets for my love of the outdoors. Rugby union, rugby league and cricket would be the 3 sports I follow most closely, although football is becoming more interesting ever since New Zealand qualified for the 2010 world cup!

Faught off a pack of wild squirrel monkeys who were trying to steal my papayas in the Bolivian jungle.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can crochet, play the guitar and the ukulele, and ski. Am more than happy to share any of those things.

Estoy intentando a mejorar mi castellano (o español si prefieras), y me gustaria mucho aprender mas.
