About Me
CURRENT MISSION
After travelling quite a bit during my early twenties and working through my mid twenties I've decided to take (at least!!) a year off. Ignoring every rational thought, I decided that it would be a good idea to do this on a motorbike (which I bought in San Francisco in July). I know next to nothing about motorbikes and have limited riding experience. What could possibly go wrong!
I'm also learning Spanish at the moment which I hope to continue to improve during my travels through the Americas.
PHILOSOPHY
Even though i've study philosophy I've never really thought about a personal philosophy. I think talking with people and exchanging stories is always a way to stay happy and kindhearted....as is having a few drinks with friends (wow i think i just found out my personal philosophy)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've always had such incredible and unique experiences couchsurfing. I think being able to trust somebody from the outset and quickly build a friendship is a really cool thing.
I've hosted many people back home in Melbourne and have made a lot of good friends that i continue to see to this day.
Interests
Going out with friends, sport and staying fit, going out for drinks, travelling (obviously!!), meeting new and old friends, cooking, reading (I'm currently reading The Trabant Trek which is now 2 years overdue from my local library), politics (yehhh i love having a good discussion), helping people with English (i love English grammar) and trying to learn new languages (at the moment Spanish).
Music, Movies, and Books
anything and everything in short...but my personal favs are:
movies-good-will hunting, the shawshank redemption and the hangover;
books- 1984, Simon Scarrow, Amelie Nothomb and the classics of course
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Running of the bulls in Spain was probably both the most amazing and stupid thing i have ever done in my life! unfortunately I broke my collarbone 4 days before my trip to Europe (yes massive bummer!)however this wasn't going to stop me. I was the guy running down the road with a floppy arm grimacing in pain and fear haha what a memory!
Teach, Learn, Share
I love teaching English and learning languages.
I also love hearing about wild adventures, upcoming travel plans and sharing some travel stories of my own.
