Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Enjoy the simple things in life.
ABOUT ME
I've lived on and off in Canberra for a decade and now consider it home. I studied at the Australian National University and now I'm trying to work out what to do next (liberal arts degrees... not good for the job market...)
I lived in the Middle East for about 18 months, studying Arabic and working for a humanitarian organisation, before coming back to finish my degree. At the moment I'm working full time and studying part time, so don't have much spare time to host (or travel...) that will change in due course though.
I love cooking and bushwalking, and live in the perfect spot for both activities. Other than that, I enjoy the occasional beer or coffee around Canberra. I love the Namadgi National Park too - if you're lucky, I might be able to take you down there.
PHILOSOPHY
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
In the past I did a lot more hosting, especially when based in the Middle East. These days I'm a bit busy with study and when I'm not in the books I'm out with the dog.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
When I was in Jordan, I hosted people from the US, Austria, Canada, Britain, the Netherlands, Israel, Zimbabwe, Belgium. I've also had coffee with Americans, New Zealanders and Frenchmen and Canadians.

Teach, Learn, Share
In the summer there is a particular swimming hole that I like to visit which is an old Aboriginal meeting site and I'm happy to share this with you (provided that I have the time...)
Canberra is a strange city and it can seem quite alienating unless you know a local. I can teach you how to eat your way through Canberra's charming little coffee places and restaurants, and we can share a beer whilst we learn about each other. Sound like a plan?
