Overview
About Me
Ahoy there! I'm currently on a working holiday visa in Canada, so if you're reading this probably I've asked to stay with you. I'm a relaxed, warm and enthusiastic guest who's easy to talk to- though equally have an independent way and am just as happy to do my own thing if you're busy. I'm tidy and clean up after myself, and can cook fairly well so if you have a few spices or sauces I'll gladly get some ingredients and rustle up some food for you while I stay.
About me.. Nature is a true love of mine, so a lot of my time travelling is spent finding beautiful outdoor areas to spend the day in, or ways to get my hands in the soil. I love good energy, meeting people, and working with my hands. Living in this crazy era I do my best to balance standing up against the environmental and political challenges we face, while also taking care to feel the joy of everything I experience. So I am as happy in simple conversation, laughter and enjoying the little things as I am in great philosophical discussions.
I'm a musician, and in the past have set up several creative projects with various successes; being booked to play at international festivals, featuring on an EP that went to #1 on an alternative chart, representing my city for a spoken word gig, and touring and performing at venues and festivals across the UK, etc.
Around work and travel I regularly volunteer on permaculture projects, as well as running/assisting music/creative recycling workshops, mens circles, nature immersion camps etc, mostly for young people. I take an engaged interest in pretty much anything and everyone, and always hope to develop and share new understanding, skills and stories while travelling. I'm a peaceful guy, and find good friends wherever I go.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Meeting lush humans, sharing conversation and keeping the cycles of kindnesses turning. My enjoyment and comfort with Couchsurfing lead on from growing up on a woof'ing farm and lots of experience volunteering worldwide.
Looking forward to meeting you lovely folk!

Music, Movies, and Books
I roll with a very eclectic taste in music; I'm currently working on a folk/blues/indie influenced solo project, but my tastes span far and wide- anything with conviction or grooves. Lots of ethno/world, jazz, acoustic and hip-hop at the moment, but it's ever changing, and I'll find value in pretty much any genre.
There are too many wonderful and inspiring books to consider, but the writers Phillip Pullman, Annie Dillard, Patrick Rothfuss, Herman Hesse and Mary Oliver probably deserve special mention.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can play many different musical instruments and am always happy to teach you, or just to jam! I also love to work outside and with a plethora of rural skills will enjoy helping out in your garden. I'm glad to help teach English to anyone who is learning, and always keen to chat in my intermediate Spanish.
