About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To chase wherever my heart leads me.

ABOUT ME

Well to begin with, I enjoy the good ole' face to face conversation much more than having to put myself into words like I'm doing now. However, I guess it wouldn't hurt to give ya few brief details relating to how awesome I am. Typically my communication skills are pretty good, but I'm long-winded so I will try to keep it brief. I was born and raised in south Mississippi. If I didn't say yes ma'am or no ma'am I found myself in a heap of trouble only to imply that I'm polite and courteous as can be. I grew up in a rural place with mostly only hunting and fishing available, whereas I wanted more. Much more. I wanted mountains and rivers. I wanted to climb and know what it felt like to be high above the tree-line. I wanted it all. As I grew older I became more and more acceptable of the social norms and conformities impressed upon me in terms of how we should 'live life.' I slowly and unknowingly let my childhood dreams and ambitions slip into my sub-conscious memory. On January 3, 2010 I realized I had adopted a way of life that in no way reflected what was deep within me. So in the year of 2011 I decided to embark on a journey that would forever change my life and would force me to ask - What do I truly want out of life? And so, from that moment on its been pretty remarkable and I have no regrets!!

PHILOSOPHY

“So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.”

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Just getting started!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Any couch I've ever slept on has been truly appreciated whether it be from a friend or stranger. I've also stayed in my fair share of hostels on the east coast which I happen to love doing btw. You never know who you're going to meet in those places!

Interests

I like most anything that involves a phyical and mental challenge. I have done long distance cycling and backpacking. I'm currently an ultra-marathoner with a recent 100m under my belt :) I wanna get into triatholons as soon as time allows. I love the water and the mountains just as much as the next guy, if not more. I like people who are real with me and those whom I'm able to have a good ole' fashioned conversation with. Ummm, I could go on of course but if you're curious about anything else just feel free to ask me.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite movie of all time is "The Man from Snowy River." I can't leave out "Dances with Wolves" or "Legends of the Fall", of course. Favorite comedy by a long shot is "Dumb and Dumber." I love any music that has the ability to move me. Also, any book that moves me. "Born to Run", "Into the Wild", "Where the Red Fern Grows", "The Grapes of Wrath", etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have seen a family be there for me in the low times and in the high times. I have an awesome family whom I wish I could see more. I have seen myself develop life-long relationships that are amazing and will always continue to be amazing. I jumped off the tallest building in Las Vegas once.

Teach, Learn, Share

Hmmm tough to comment on in terms of the 'teaching' aspect. However, I am more than willing to learn from anyone.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Mexico
