Overview
About Me
In school I studied Cognitive Science and Linguistics. Then I moved to New York and worked in a few jobs, including at a news website and a technology start-up. I was doing improv comedy in my free time. Then improv and comedy become more of my focus, and I moved to Los Angeles to try my hand in the entertainment business.
I've been in LA the last five years and it has been a real adventure. Now I've been traveling across Europe to get some perspective and see new things, and maybe find some time to think.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It's much better to experience a new place (or even an old place!) with someone who lives there. I love to see different ways of life and different people's places, to talk to new people and learn their outlook on life.
Interests
Languages, philosophy, art, music, technology, computer science, theatre, comedy, gaining new interests.
I just signed up for a machine language course on Coursera, and I plan to start teaching myself about architecture as soon as I get back to where they let me use the library. The library -- they let you take books for free!

Music, Movies, and Books
I like lots of music. Favorites right now are Odesza, Jose Gonzalez, old Radiohead. My favorite movie is Jurassic Park. My favorite book is Infinite Jest, and I love books and reading.
On my trip I have read:
Where Good Ideas Come From, Steven Johnson, flight from LA to Copenhagen
The Art of War, Sun Tzu, flight from Copenhagen to Barcelona
The Prince, Niccolo Machiavelli, trains to and from Mataró and Barcelona
Success Intelligence, Robert Holden, trains from Marrakech to Tangier
A Random Walk Down Wall Street, Burton Malkiel, bus from Tarifa to Madrid
Hard Times, Charles Dickens, bus from Madrid to Barcelona
Wild, Cheryl Strayed, bus from Milan to Munich
Thinking, Fast and Slow, Daniel Kahneman, bus from Munich to Freiburg and bus from Freiburg to Hamburg
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hmm one time I chased down some kids who broke into my car and got all my stuff back. Also I was paralyzed as a teenager but then got better.
I was on an episode of HBO's the Newsroom and got to meet Aaron Sorkin, Terry Crews, Dev Patel, and Sam Waterson. That was pretty cool.
