Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I don't believe in having the same experience as every other tourist. I'm really trying not to use a travel guide. Instead I love to learn from locals. No matter where you are the locals know best.
I'm not couch surfing just to get a place to stay but to learn as much as possible.
I really love new ways of life, picking up new languages, helping out around the house. Theres so much more to travel than staying in a hostel.
Interests
Gypsy guitar!!
Locals and new experiences
Learning languages-Australians are never pressured to learn new languages. Different languages hold so many new Ideas and concepts. Its very important to learn some of the local language.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Django Reinhardt, Yann Tiersen, Violent Femmes, Gareth Liddiard. Anything really .
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I used to study a bit of Psychology. We studied a Phenomenon called the bystander effect. Its a social effect where no one offers assistance to a victim when lots of other people are present. When I was younger I saw a lifeless man in a car. No one was helping him, no one stopped to see if he was alright. I don't know where it came from but I found the courage to help him out. I dragged him from the car cleared his air ways and called the ambulance. Turns out a had overdosed. Eventually he got the help he needed and survived.
