21 year old from the sunny island of Singapore. I just finished an epic backpacking trip around Europe and I’m looking forward to sharing more about Singapore to others.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Having Couchsurfed through Europe during my gap year, I figured it is time for me to pay it forward in this dear community. Hosting people is an absolute joy. I am very proud of the city I live in, and I am always excited to share about it. Besides, it is nice to meet new people to break the monotony of law school.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a huge Killers fan. Watching them perform at the Singapore GP in 2018 is definitely a big highlight. When I am not listening to the Killers, I fill the silence in with The Smiths, Queen, ABBA and anything from the 1980s/1990s. I collect vinyls on the side as well!

My favourite movies include Forrest Gump, Troy, and The Pursuit of Happiness. Huge fan of Band of Brothers, Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, and Modern Family. I also love the Black Mirror series.

In terms of books, I enjoy reading non fiction books on my Kindle. My recent reads include Yuval Harari’s Sapiens and Trevor Noah’s Born a Crime. Currently reading Singapore: Unlikely Power to commentate the bi-centennial.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Unlike many of my friends who served their National Service in the Army, I served in the Civil Defence Force as an Operations Section Commander. I received training in rescue and first aid skills. I’ve been involved in numerous exercises involving large fires and chemical attack simulations.

Teach, Learn, Share

Being born and raised in Singapore, I know the hottest hawker spots, and the coolest hipster hangouts. I have a strong affection for the prewar colonial buildings littered around the tiny island. I can bring you around town for a little history lesson.
