Overview
About Me
I am 23 and Recently graduated university after studying math/physics and engineering. I'm now off to explore the world in a minimalistic way and live life generously!
I left my 90kg dog, Ruger, at home in CA to travel.
I've spent every summer working in Alaska on a boat to pay for my education.
I'm very kind and can be quite funny - especially if we're having a drink.
I love women, but not enough to ever be disrespectful. Guys are cool too, but don't expect a kiss goodnight - it's not for me ;)
If you have a passion, I always want to hear about it. And I'd love to give you my input.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Having been on the road since the beginning of August, I see that the best part of traveling is the people you meet. It's amazing that we live in an age where so many people can be so connected all over the world, and I love to expand those connections!
Interests
Hiking, surfing, cycling, motorcycles, beer, billiards, and good people!
Music, Movies, and Books
I play the drums and some guitar. If we can jam, I'd be elated!
I listen to many varieties of music from indie, folk, alternative, acoustic, metal, punk, and on occasion some Kendrick Lamar... Occasionally - Good Kid MAAD city was incredible.
I've read a ton of CS Lewis both novels and nonfiction. I am currently reading freakonimics and The Big Short. I've recently developed an appreciation for influential literature and love literary discussion even though I'm not that well versed.
As for movies, like literature, I appreciate discussing their themes and motifs. If a movie impacted you, or you have a good understanding of the objectives of a film, I would love to hear about it. If you want to tell me how funny or sad a movie was, I don't care so much. I'll still nod and listen with a smile, but it's not so entertaining to me.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've spent my summers as a commercial fisherman in Alaska where I ended up skippering a small boat for some time. I've got plenty of stories from my time there that I'd be happy to share! From saving baby otters, to being surrounded by orcas, to storms, to the serenity of the sea and the cycles of the ocean and mother natures moods.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am a constant student of the world. Let's share our knowledge.
I taught engineering and robotics to children for some time and would be happy to share and simplify the many principles used or even do a project with you!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am pretty handy - I'd be happy to fix something for you if I can. I'm also happy to teach you some fun games!
