About Me
I'm a southern gent living in the bold north! I moved up from Louisiana to Minnesota 11 years ago and found myself nestled into the historic Grand Avenue neighborhood of Saint Paul. Situated right on Crocus Hill, when you stay with me you'll be near everything the neighborhood has to offer.

Music, Movies, and Books
Once I started listening to Sigur Ros 11 years ago, I just couldn’t stop. Their music changed my life and permeates it still!
When I’m sick or sad my go-to comfort movie is the Wizard of Oz :)
If you liked Tolkien as a kid as much as I did, then you’ll probably enjoy Robert Jordan’s series the Wheel of Time!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Dove off a 60ft fjord into the sea!

Here are a few of my favorite quotes :D
"Lokah Samasta Sukhino Bhavantu"
"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give" Winston Churchill
"There are no ordinary people. You have never talked to a mere mortal. Nations, cultures, arts, civilizations--these are mortal, and their life is to ours as the life of a gnat. But it is immortals whom we joke with, work with, marry, snub, and exploit -- immortal horrors or everlasting splendours. This does not mean that we are to be perpetually solemn. We must play. But our merriment must be of the kind (and it is, in fact, the merriest kind) which exists between people who have, from the outset, taken each other seriously--no flippancy, no superiority, no presumption... real and costly love." C.S. Lewis
"If you judge people, you have no time to love them."
Mother Teresa
"To laugh often and much, to win respect of intelligent persons and the affections of children, to earn the approbation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends, to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to leave the world a little better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition, to have played and laughed with enthusiasm, and sung with exultation, to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived--this is to have succeeded."
Ralph Waldo Emerson
"Inhale, and God approaches you. Hold the inhalation, and God remains with you. Exhale, and you approach God. Hold the exhalation, and surrender to God."
Krishnamacharya
"Anyone can give up, it's the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that's true strength.”
"There are those, however, that are not frightened of grief: dropping deep into the sorrow, they find therein a necessary elixir to the numbness. When they encounter one another, when they press their foreheads against the bark of a centuries-old tree...their eyes well with tears that fall easily to the ground. The soil needs this water. Grief is but a gate, and our tears a kind of key opening a place of wonder thats been locked away. Suddenly we notice a sustaining resonance between the drumming heart within our chest and the pulse rising from the ground"
David Abram
"The wound is the place where the Light enters you.” Rumi
"Et lux in tenebris lucet"
"What we love determines what we seek. What we seek determines what we think and do. What we think and do determines who we are - and who we will become." Dieter F. Uchtdorf
"Love never fails."
