About Me

Hi All,

I am currently a graduate student of international affairs, based in Geneva, Switzerland, but currently doing research in Senegal. One of my passions is to travel, learn about other people and cultures, make new friends, eat new foods, and explore different places.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've joined couch surfing to help grow this community of fellow travelers and enable cultural exchange. In my view, meeting other people helps lower barriers of mistrust across cultures, nationalities, and religions; increases mutual understanding and compassion; and helps us see more nuances and complexities in the world.

Currently I can't offer a couch because I'm doing field work in Senegal and don't have my own place. Once I do, couch will be open!

Interests

In my free time I love to cook, be physically active outdoors (riding bikes, running, hiking, backpacking, swimming, etc), read, hang out with friends old and new, visit museums, and explore new places.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Forrest Gump, The Borne Ultimatum (the whole trilogy actually), Back to the Future ( the whole trilogy), Star Wars (trilogy...do you sense a pattern? haha), Napoleon Dynamite (my girlfriend hates this one, but I still maintain it is a masterful comedy), and many many others...

Music: very eclectic, wary of 80's music (some good, some very bad)

Books: the best read recently: Beyond the Beautiful Forevers

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Biked Normandy with just a backpack on my back.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to cook and would be happy to cook for you. I am happy to engage in cultural and linguistic exchange. I am very glad to give back and help others. There is nothing I like better than help others on their paths, including by helping them travel more cheaply and by providing information about Americans, the USA, and other places I have traveled.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, England, France, Germany, Mauritania, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands, Spain

Countries I’ve Lived In

Senegal, Switzerland, United States
