Overview
About Me
I'm a grad student in mathematics at NYU, where I study applications of geometry and topology to artificial intelligence. I'm also currently writing a magazine article on the connections between art and math. I've posted some of my research at joshuatan.com.
In a former life, I studied art history, and wrote my thesis on the sublime. In between math and art, I worked at a tech startup and a robotics lab.
The most important thing about me is that I am incredibly bad at puns. So much that it's become legend in my friend group. But I am a master of non sequiturs. Do not expect me to come up with puns, I will freeze, think really hard, and say something completely nonsensical.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet people. Also, because couches are better than floors, and floors are better than concrete, though concrete is not better than grass.
