I'm trying to understand the significance and beauty of life. Just a falling leaf in the wind like the rest of us, slowly getting older. I'm currently finishing a PhD in astronomy in Leiden. I tend to try doing things that are out of my comfort zone, unless I don't feel like it, in which case I like to be comfortable. I love learning, travelling, meeting new people, drinking coffee, listening to music, laughing, and pondering the universe. The fact I can be paid to do this makes me happy. I too believe in the cliché, that people should always pursue their passions.

At this time of writing I'm reading for pleasure: "Myra Breckinridge" by Gore Vidal, "As A Man Thinkest" by James Allen, a book on hydroponics, a book on environmental physics, "Hitch-22" by Christopher Hitchens, and listening the the audio book version of "The Wheel of Time" by Robert Jordan when I'm on my bike. The last movie I watched in the cinema was "Zootopia". The last thing I watch on Netflix, "Blacksails". Last music I listened to was a jazz hip-hop mixed list.
