Über mich
CURRENT MISSION
Trailblaze through Europe until a city sticks!
ABOUT ME
I'm one of those kinds of people who is adaptable, meaning that I can be a hundred different types of people in one day depending on who's in my vicinity, but get to know me and I'm loyal, open minded, a gentle soul, witty, affable and I value intelligence beyond the need to dash braincells and chest-thump. 'Work Me' is heads down, rolled up sleeves and a creativity junkie who loves his job; 'Home Me' is relaxed, fun, love a wine or a beer with a movie or a good TV series (Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Newsroom, etc), 'Hobbie Me' loves to write, read, go on jaunts into town or daydream about absolute freedom on the road; 'Weekend Me' is affable, energetic, mischievous, with occasional bouts of unleashed mayhem.
PHILOSOPHY
"Be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labours and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world.” Max Ehrmann, Desiderata: A Poem for a Way of Life
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Been to a few Couchsurfing gatherings in Istanbul and Bucharest but haven't stayed anywhere just yet!
Interessen
I've never shaken the travel bug: when I'm not on the road I'm there in mind, researching places to go, watching Michael Palin dancing in Romania; staying in touch with friends abroad who I have met over the years of wandering. I am a teacher at heart, so much of my time is dedicated to refining and evolving the education industry (both mine and the overall scheme!). My one passion is writing: I love creating a world and populating it with characters that are both real and unreal. Everyone loves music but I'm a loyalist to my 90s grunge bands like Pearl Jam, Prog artists like Tool and anyone new who catches my attention (Little Dragon, Arcade Fire). I'm also a movie buff, though it's harder to be these days! Making a shift to well-made TV productions on HBO, of late.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
1) Tricked (literally) Sacha Baron Cohen into a TV interview during the Borat movie premier in Melbourne, dressed as a Jewish journalist (Cohen was in character as Borat at the time)
2) Waded through the End of the World Dress Rehearsal at the Gili Islands NYE 2010/11; knee deep in rainwater on a tropical island, watching fireworks curtailed by the most brazen lightning show I've ever seen while soaked backpackers and local Indos danced to sand-encrusted DJS and reggae bands...all with good friends and company. Best moment in life ever!
