About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To have the longest hair in the free world.
ABOUT ME
Imagine an egg.
It's spinning.
There's a dark blurry band around its equator.
The egg spins faster.
And faster.
A phone rings.
The egg slows down and starts to wobble.
You can see letters written in black ink on its equator but it's spinning too fast to read.
The egg falls over and cracks open.
Thick black yolk oozes out.
You're afraid to touch it but curiosity takes hold of your hand.
You examine the egg but the sticky yolk has obscured the letters.
You start to lick it off.
It tastes of wild calmness.
You piece the broken shell together and before slipping out of consciousness you read :
"Josh's Breakfast. Do not eat."
I forgive you.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on couchsurfing because I think it is hands-down the ideal form of travel for a solo traveler. Why stay in a hotel alone when I can stay with a friend?
It's such a wonderful global community of people and in my romantic view of things it brings humanity closer together.
I would also love to host travelers from around the world if I ever decide not to be a vagabond and get a place of my own.
Interests
Very broadly, learning and creating are my two favorite things.
I have always had a strong interest in science and more recently I've been thirsty for historical knowledge. I also love just talking to new people and hearing their perspective on life.
Most things fascinate me and I'm pretty much always up to try new things.
I always need a steady creative outlet.
I've put a lot of creative energy into ephemeral snapchat videos over the past half year as well as into musical compositions.
I participate in a writing group for short stories and poetry. I USED to do structured improv and I miss it dearly. On New Year's Eve I had some friends over to paint a chair.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love discovering new and surprising music and I also love building relationships with music by listening to it obsessively for a while.
Most recently I did this with Lorde's Pure Heroine.
I'm currently reading Gödel Escher Bach as well as Intro to Set Theory.
I enjoy non-fiction like these but I also love books like 'Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency' or 'John Dies at the End'.
I think Boyhood was the best movie of its year and probably Toy Story is the best trilogy of all time.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I climbed up a mountain in Montana with my grandfather and at the top there was a beautiful lake.
An ostrich once stuck its head into my car during a drive-through safari in Texas.
I accidentally stepped in the hot geyser water in Iceland.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a math major and tutor and I take lessons in swing and blues dancing. I also took salsa long ago.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am eager to help out however you like from washing dishes to pulling an elaborate prank on your loved ones.
