About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Right now I'm living in Paraguay as a Peace Corps health volunteer. Before I head back to the states I want to visit some of the diverse countries South America has to offer. I'm spontaneous, silly, and free-spirited, but can be contemplative at times.

ABOUT ME

I'm an Afro-Dominican-Peruvian male living and working in rural Paraguay, about to complete my Peace Corps service. I was born in New Jersey and lived in New York until I was 5 when my family and I moved to sunny Orlando, Florida where I have lived since. I'm definitely a beach body, loving the water and hating to be too far away from the beach or a pool. I can be serious at times but I'd prefer to be silly, just takes a little bit to get me there. I love to meet new people and I love to laugh in the process. Don't be shy because I won't be. :)

PHILOSOPHY

Learn, Live, Laugh, Love.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now I'm traveling around Paraguay and hopefully South America after I finish my service. Once I'm settled (wherever that may be) I'm looking forward to meeting and hosting new friends via CS.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't had the pleasure of calling any CouchSurfing experience mine. I have hung out with friends that have hosted CouchSurfers and we've had a great time exchanging cultures and languages, cooking recipes, and smiles. I can honestly say that the few days I've spent with CouchSurfers have opened me up to the idea of traveling around the world crashing on people's couches and exchanging life experiences.

Interests

I'm interested in plenty of things, like snowboarding, soccer, football, wakeboarding, cooking, reading, movies, technology, science, yoga, weightlifting, religions, philosophy, cars, home furnishings, nature. The less I know about a subject the more I'll probably be interested. Try me...

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music, movies, and books. For example: The Departed, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, Super Troopers, The Sun Also Rises, The Old Man and the Sea, A General Theory of Love, The Short but Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, One Eskimo, Juan Luis Guerra, Lupe Fiasco, etc...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveled to a remote waterfall in Paraguay called Salto Cristal. Absolutely beautiful and in my opinion the most breathtaking part of Paraguay.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a biologist so I have all kinds of sciences to share. I come from a very diverse family and have read about and have personal feelings on issues of race and diversity. I have played an instrument since I was 11 so I have some music theory down.
