About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Current Mission: Road trip from Reston to Nashville, New Orleans, and Austin. Mission in general, meet great people, eat great food, see as much of the world as possible and make a difference in people's lives
ABOUT ME
Well, I'm not great at talking about myself, but I guess I'll try and hit the important points. So I was born in Swaziland, and lived in Uganda, South Africa, and then Senegal until I was 13, and then moved to the US, and lived in Reston, VA until I went to James Madison University in Harrisonburg VA, right in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley.
I'm a people person, and I love just hanging out and talking, about anything and everything. I think that traveling is probably one of the greatest things anyone can do, because I've seen how big and beautiful the world is, and its still bigger yet, and there is more to see. Which is why I love different cultures, traditions, languages, food and people. I speak French, Spanish, and Arabic at varying levels of fluency. And I love to use them!
I'm a total foodie, I love all kinds of food, I think you'd be hard pressed to find something I won't try. I also enjoy a good wine or beer. I also love cooking and try to do it when I can.
I also love music, movies, and good books. I listen to a wide variety of music, and I absolutely love going to live music shows, and dancing, gotta dance. I have recently become very much into yoga, in particular Vinyasa Flow, it's awesome. I'm also a huge ultimate frisbee fan, I played in college, so if you like to toss a disc around, let me know!
I'm very easy to get along with, and I like to have a good time. Whoever you are out there, waiting to host me on your lovely couch, I look forward to meeting you! Thanks for being awesome.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe that most people are inherently good people. I believe in giving the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. I also believe that if you have the means you should try and make life better for those less fortunate than yourself, and bigger than that, that you should leave the world better than you found it, how that is achieved is debatable. Regardless though, do something good for other people, it's a great feeling.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I haven't had any personal couch surfing experience yet, but I'm hoping to have some very soon!
I do however, have a friend who couchsurfed around the world last year and he's told me many great stories about the people he met along the way, and how awesome his experience was.

Music, Movies, and Books
I think it would be impossible to list all the movies, books and music I enjoy, and if I managed to do so, it would be to long and boring to manage to go through it all, but I'll hit the big ones.
Movies: Anything by Wes Anderson, Looper, Fight Club, Shawshank Redemption, Omar, The Big Lebowski, Little Miss Sunshine, Great Beauty
Music: Fleet Foxes, Waxahatchee, Kanye West, J. Cole, Alt J, Imagine Dragons, Haim, Black Keys, ddy Waters, Tallest Man on Earth, Common, Pharrell, Shovels and Rope, The Lumineers, Lupe Fiasco, Kendrick Lamar, Local Natives, Beach House, Avici, and the list goes on and on haha
Books: The Magus, Great Gatsby, Catch 22, Slaughterhouse 5, and then a lot of fantasy type novels when I was younger.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I think one amazing thing I have done is worked at this magical summer camp in Maine, called Seeds of Peace. It is a conflict resolution camp, with an emphasis on the conflict going on between the Palestinians and Israelis. But they bring kids from all over the region, including India and Pakistan. They are some of the most incredible people I've ever met. I've learned as much from them as they have from me.
Not to mention, the rest of the staff are some of the most amazing people. I've created some of the best friendships from those people, and the bond that is created by working together there is a very powerful one. It has changed and influenced my life in many different and great ways. I'm so glad to have had that opportunity.
