Overview
About Me
I quit my job in December after realizing I was miserable and needed to do something else. I'm currently staying with a family in Central Norway helping care for their sheep and cows, and have also worked at their mountain ski stop where they serve delicious waffles and coco to those skiing in the mountains.
I've worked in US politics for almost 7 years and have met some incredible people and worked on some incredible projects. I happily left Washington DC as soon as Trump became President.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've traveled in just about every method possible - Doing it with people and getting to know people who live where you want to visit is hands down the best. Couchsurfing makes that easy.
Interests
It's a classically American thing, but I do love baseball. My hometown Los Angeles Dodgers have always been my favorite and I probably go to 20 games a year or so. Another very American thing I love doing is going on a road trip, I've driven across the US from ocean to ocean twice and around California and all over countless times.
Despite my passion and career in politics, I'm more than capable of having a normal conversation without bringing it up or jamming my opinion down your throat. If you ask I'm happy to chat, but we don't need to.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: I love 80s movies and Christopher Nolan. The Goonies, The Dark Knight, Budapest Hotel, Comedies, Action, adventure, Sci-fi and more are all good.
Huge book nerd: Meditations, Letters from a Stoic, Harry Potter, Dune, Where the Red fern grows, Ready Player One, Red Rising, Tolkien, Isaac Asimov, Malcolm Gladwell, Tim Ferriss, Orson Scott Card, and more.
Went and saw The Killers in February, that was awesome.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've circled the world. I started in Los Angeles and went across the Pacific Ocean to Japan. Used the boat to visit countries throughout Asia, Africa, and then got off in London. Went around Western Europe for a month and then took a flight from Germany to Florida. Then took a flight back to Los Angeles. The whole trip took me about six months and was completely worth it.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Happy to cook a meal and even try teaching an American dish or two if that's of interest. Not all ingredients are always available, but it's always worth a shot. I've been cooking for the family here in Norway every few days and they've been quite complimentary.
