About Me

CURRENT MISSION

renounce, enjoy, serve.

ABOUT ME

Living in rural intentional communities. Learning and enjoying evermore about myself and life as the two become integrated. Loving. Serving.
Catalyzing healthy culture in residential intentional communities. Connecting groups of friends, growing food, playing, loving, building.

Manifesting my visions of:
-Offering donation-based healing movement, meditation, nonviolent communication (NVC), conflict resolution, and permaculture classes and guidance for healing our inner and outer relationships.
-Organizing and facilitating intensive, immersions into harmonious right-relationship with our bodies, selves, family, food, and earth.
-Sharing the non-stop transformational festivals within our own hearts via joyful, service-without-agenda.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Since 2010, I've been living in intentional communities in MO, VA, WV, and NY (like cambiacommunity.weebly.com http://eastbrookfarm.com/ https://www.ic.org/directory/allegheny-crest-intentional-village/). We enjoy hosting couchsurfers, wwoofers, and cyclists (through warmshowers.org). When I'm traveling between communities or visiting my family, I prefer to stay with couchsurfing hosts, sharing stories and skills, and building community one person at a time.

I've done some couchsurfing between Missouri (where my parents live) and various east coast intentional communities in Virginia and New York, and more recently, Massachusetts.

I enjoy cleaning and helping people out with projects and I love sharing and hearing stories of community, purpose, relationship with land. I like when my hosts can still live their day-to-day without worrying too much about accommodating me. I can be pretty low-maintenance, but also love to talk and connect if it's mutually desired. It's quite a humbling experience to be cared for so well. I want to give back! If you have any projects that need an extra hand or just need some dishes washed, let me know.

Interests

I enjoy repurposing waste, NVC, finding enjoyment in what is, giving hand and shoulder massages; dancing (freeform, contact improv, 5rhythms, authentic movement), smiling, eye contact, breathing deeply, yoga, listening, ecstatic unity, conflict resolution, being open and honest, being friendly, primitive skills, community, DIY, permaculture, etc...

Music, Movies, and Books

MOVIES: I've enjoyed Amelie, Eternal Sunshine OtSM, Garden State, etc... but I don't watch many movies.
MUSIC: I like most. EDM, most types of folk, celtic, bluegrass, ambient, world fusion, tribal, etc...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've moved by bicycle trailer a couple times.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm interested in:
-hearing your story, what lights you up.
-learning how to guide a shamanic journey with a simple drum beat and gentle words.
-hearing stories and strategies from peoples' bike touring and backpacking experiences.
-hearing peoples' experiences using different wild plants for food and medicine.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can teach/facilitate:

meditation
friction fire making
wild plants for food and medicine
simple singalong songs, rounds, chants
contact improv
dumpster diving
hitchhiking
Vivation (breathwork)
(intuitive or experiential) Focusing
gardening
basic bicycle maintenance
voice lessons
college algebra
music theory
yoga asanas (intermediate level ashtanga / vinyasa / iyengar)
nonviolent communication

I can share stories of my rural intentional community visits. I can ask you lots of questions to help you refine your ideas about creating intentional community.

I can help you clarify what's most important in your life. I can help you discover personalized strategies that help you remain connected to that vision.
