About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Work my way up the corporate ladder to 'Supreme Chancellor of Gypsy Vagabonders'. Rule World. Not necessarily this one, but A World.

ABOUT ME

Well I've been living abroad in one spot or another for...geez like 7 years now. My partner Taz and I met up 6 years ago and we've been bashing around the Pacific looking for a place to set up shop for a while. Warm beaches to dive in and excellent mountains to hike are my favorite spots to be. We're both experienced couchsurfers, and have enjoyed a solid 99.99% of the folks we've met through here.

PHILOSOPHY

I don't give any governing body or person the authority to tell me what I can or can't do. Who is to say they know better than I do? Morality and Ethics are social constructs that are amorphous over time. Standing on a cloud of judgment and decreeing what one person does is correct, while another's actions are incorrect or illegal is a presumption I'll not entertain as justified. However I'm enough of a realist to grant them the right of the Gun, there are things they can force us to do, and consequences we can be forced to face. For the most part this doesn't effect me, I'm not exactly Caligula and I have my own ideas on Right and Wrong, but you won't find me in the voting lines.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Aside from the non-answer of 'signing up for this site' I suppose I participate in the whole spirit of the thing by making it a point to help out fellow travelers whenever I can, or chose to, to be more accurate. The last house I leased ended up having something like 11 roommates and 20 travelers in the course of six months, and I can assure you there was couch sleeping involved.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Well I went to University on the east coast of North America, and pretty much couch surfed my way up and down the whole thing. I'm pretty sure road trips and couch surfing should be a prerequisite for graduation into Vagabondry. While living in Canada I was able to host a bunch of people at the Inn I worked and living at, didn't meet a single person I didn't like. Hosted again in Darwin and met some great folks there as well, including a couple of French dudes who got us kicked out of all the bars, which is a feat in Australia!
