I am a science and fitness nerd, looking to travel the world and meet new people. I work as a RN at a local hospital and I enjoy helping people for a living. When I'm not at work I enjoy running, martial arts, going to concerts, drinking coffee or whole leaf tea and reading.

Favorite music: The Cure, Depeche Mode, Bauhaus, Skinny Puppy, VNV Nation, Qntal, Covenant, NIN, Siouxsie And the Banshees, Helium Vola, Seabound, Ashbury Heights, Bad Religion, AFI, Agonoize, ohGr, Tiger Army, SITD, Smashing Pumpkins, Sleetgrout, Mono Inc, Joy Division, Dead Can Dance, Feindflug, David Bowie, Daler Mehndi, Crystal Castles, Theatre of Tragedy, etc etc

Favorite books: mostly books on science, philosophy, zen and travel. Steven Pinker, Brian Greene, Daniel Dennett, Phillip Kapleau, Simon Blackburn, Carl Sagan. I am also currently reading A Clash of Kings by George R.R. Martin and Sandman anthology by Neil Gaiman and I love love the Harry Potter, Narnia Chronicles, and Lord of the Rings books.

Favorite movies/tv: mostly I like to watch documentaries, news, sci-fi movies, horror movies and indie flicks. I love Star Wars, Star Trek, Batman, Aeon flux, Harry Potter movies, Cosmos (both the original with Carl Sagan and the re-boot with NDT), Democracy Now with Amy Goodman, stories on NPR, travel shows with Samantha Brown, Anthony Bordain or Globe Trekker, Wrist Cutters, The Science of Sleep, The lives of others, Rocket Science, YiYi, Southpark, Family guy, and so on. I spend an inordinate amount of time watching courses by the Teaching Company (philosophy, physics, history, etc).

Favorite food: Thai, Indian, ( I love spicy curries), Mexican. I enjoy trying new dishes. I love coffee and tea. I have a dozen or so whole leaf teas in my house and I enjoy trying new flavors. In the morning I brew coffee strong enough to wake the dead. I could probably run a coffee-shop out of my house if I was into that.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the best trips I've taken was visiting Europe and riding the Eurorail around to 6 different countries. I met some amazing people and it changed my perspective.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a very conscientious house guest. I would expect to help clean and help out with groceries or meals for hosts. It's a hobby of mine to learn about fitness, healthy eating, meditation, tai chi and I'm always happy to share what I've been learning if anyone is interested.
