About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To make the world a happier place
ABOUT ME
I am a passionate Physics and Chemistry Teacher of Yr 11 and 12 students at Melbourne Rudolf Steiner school.
My partner David's health is on the improve (a work in progress) - though we are all taking it a bit easy... but we are hosting again here and there.
As of last year we have hosted over 270 couchsurfers - summers are the busiest, with tents and extras all over the place. The experience has been nothing but positive and all in the household (myself, Tim (son), David and I) have traveled all over Australia and internationally *a lot*, for study, sport, work and pleasure.
Our household is always a little crazy, we have free range chickens and a couple of rabbits in the backyard, but at least everything is edible (i.e. fruit and veges).
To restate we are taking it easy at the moment but if you can live with that there is 'always room at the inn'.
If you cannot stay with us, may you find excitement and unique experiences in our wonderful country with the many other fantastic hosts in Melbourne.
PHILOSOPHY
I wish to honour Gaia (Mother Earth) in all her beauty and add to the understanding between peoples regardless of age, religion, nationality or creed.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We are hosts... and enjoy the idea that everyone is only a stranger for five minutes ;-)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
No 'formal' couch surfing but plenty of examples of staying with friends OS on numerous occasions throughout Europe, US, Asia and Australia/NZ.

Avid reader, and writer of reasonably good prose and poetry. Music - all genres - particular interest in classical and alternative. Sewing (currently doing 47 costumes for Aladdin production)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Mt St Helens (USA) cloud from the air as it was still active in 1981 and then again in 2005 dormant from the ground and the devastation in the valley.
Teach, Learn, Share
As to Josie only - My loves are sustainable gardening, physics and music, painting, sewing (hand and machine), writing (fiction and for professional purposes) and reading literature, and can even give the occasional swimming lesson/coaching, and more generally just sharing knowledge. So... more than happy to share what I know of our beautiful country and the world in general.
