CURRENT MISSION
Never stop exploring!
ABOUT ME
Currently living in Twickenham with my fiance David. We've just returned from an amazing trip travelling across South America for four months, through Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina and Brazil where we had some incredible experiences and made some new couchsurfing friends. Now we've finished travelling we're back to work and back to playing with our orchestra www.kewwindorchestra.org.uk - something we do in our spare time. I play flute, David plays trumpet and in the last few years we have toured to Holland, Spain, Germany and Slovakia. I really enjoy cooking for friends and eating out at restaurants (I particularly like French and Japanese food), watching foreign films, playing tennis and travel writing. The blog I wrote from our South America trip for anyone wanting to read it is www.davidandjosie.co.uk
PHILOSOPHY
Looking back, no one ever said they wished they'd spent more time at their desk. Explore the world, it's not something you'll regret...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We met couchsurfers Mariano and Paula in Bariloche, Argentina and then stayed with Willian in Bonito, Brazil. Sadly our current flat isn't big enough to host but we are happy to get involved by showing other CS people around London.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Couchsurfed in Argentina and Brazil
Interests
Music - both playing and listening. I play flute regularly with an orchestra in London and also play with other local amateur orchestras on a regular basis. I enjoy going to watch live music too, particularly jazz and world music. Recent gigs I have enjoyed are Seu Jorge, Herbie Hancock and the Roots.
Food - both cooking and eating! I love trying new things and particularly love Schezuan, dim sum, curry and thai food
Seeing friends - whether it's meeting up in a bar, having dinner or a picnic in the summer
Travelling - In the last couple of years I've been to Thailand, France, Switzerland, Germany, Slovakia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina and Brazil. Australia and New Zealand are next on the list!
Dancing - I learnt salsa for many years and have also recently branched out to start learning ballroom and other latin styles - great fun!

Music, Movies, and Books
I like classical music (Shostakovich and Bernstein particularly), jazz, swing, funk, Ethiopiques, Gotan Project, Seu Jorge, Orishas and salsa for dancing.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Climbing the Sydney harbour bridge was a brilliant experience, it was my first solo trip travelling, where I went to Australia before university.
Teach, Learn, Share
I play the flute to a high standard having studied it to degree level, so I have a good knowledge of music in general and music theory
I studied French for seven years
I salsa dance to an advanced level and have previously taught beginners' classes
I am a marketing professional so have quite a lot of knowledge of marketing/advertising
I can cook excellent scrambled eggs, spaghetti bolognaise, curry and a roast dinner to name a few of my favourite dishes!
I would really like to improve my Spanish which is currently at a very basic level
